To understand the european point of view over the Lebanon's situation

The crisis striking the Lebanon at the moment can mark a crucial turning point in the middle east as we see him today; Sheik Nasrallah, who has been able to hold fast against the Israelite Tsahal and to repel them back after a vicious summer of violence is organizing what is supposed to be "the biggest and meaningfulness manifestion against Fouad Siniora's democratically elected government. If there is one thing that the U.S won't see to happen in a region where all hell break lose and where they're totally losing grip, it's to see the hezbollah taking control over Lebanon.
We talk a lot over the now well known views of the United States over the Lebanon and the rest of the middle East but something that is not mentioned often is the view and the relations that the U.E has with Lebanon. Such views is absolutely crucial to understand fully the complexity of the situation: http://ec.europa.eu/comm/external_relations/lebanon/intro/index.htm
